LIFE SEEMED SO SIMPLE
Life seemed so simple, just going day to day.
Never was expected the time that all changed.
Taking things for granted seemed like such a little thing,
Best friends are so special, making everything seem okay.
Someone you can count on to help you through your days.
In times in which there’s struggle,
their smile guides you along the way.
In times of joy and glory, their sweet words of praise,
Endless hours of talking about nothing and anything at the time,
It seemed silly, but our closeness it did bring.
Now my days seem dreary, without a bit of cheer,
My only comfort’s that she’s in Heaven and watching over me there.
I wonder what she feels with every single tear of despair,
The tears of those who miss her and feel as if they can’t go on,
The tears of those who miss the sweet person of who they were so fond.
Now life seems more precious as I take in every breath of air,
I am missing my other half, the match to the pair.
Time cannot heal the bond which we lost.
God can only assure us, without the smallest cost.
Until my final day on Earth, I’ll miss you more and more.
I can’t wait until our meeting, which Heaven hold in store.
Until that day, I will hold you near to my heart.
True friends, I’ve found, can never be torn apart.
